The Pied Piper of Hamelin - a story that has both fascinated and given me the creeps as a kid. A piper that sings and all mice are bewitched and follow him? Magical. But then, children as well? Creepy...

I used watercolor red pencil for a general outline, Whitenights watercolors, and some more watercolor pencils for finishing touches. The paper is a 300g cold pressed cotton blend - note to self, not great for using masking fluid pen!

The masking fluid entered too deep into the paper's fibers/not at all, even if I rubbed it off the same day, however I ended up liking the imprecise effect of watercolor invading the bigger stars :)
